Sunil Thapa was an acclaimed Nepalese actor known for redefining villainous and character roles across Nepali, Bollywood, and Bhojpuri cinema, most notably as the iconic antagonist 'Rate Kaila' in the cult classic Chino and as boxing coach Narjit Singh in Mary Kom. Before embarking on a prolific film career that spanned from his Bollywood debut in Ek Duuje Ke Liye to television and web series like The Family Man 3, Thapa built a diverse background as a mainstream Indian fashion model, professional competitive footballer, and photojournalist who covered the 1974 coronation of Bhutan's king.
