Ravi Kisan

Ravindra Kishan Shukla, popularly known as Ravi Kishan (born July 17, 1969), is a prominent Indian actor, television personality, and politician serving as the Member of Parliament for Gorakhpur. Originally from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, and educated at Mumbai's Rizvi College, he made his screen debut in the early 1990s before achieving superstar status as a leading man in Bhojpuri cinema alongside prominent supporting roles in Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada films like Tere Naam, Phir Hera Pheri, Race Gurram, and Mukkabaaz. A veteran of over 200 films and a former Bigg Boss contestant, he expanded his popularity through major television and web roles, gaining critical acclaim for his performance as Inspector Shyam Manohar in Laapataa Ladies (2024), which earned him the Filmfare and IIFA Awards for Best Supporting Actor. A father of four—including actress Riva Kishan and Indian Army officer Ishita Shukla—he continues to balance a prolific acting career with active public service, for which he was awarded the Sansad Ratna.
