Basundhara Bhusal

Basundhara Bhusal is a legendary Nepalese theater and film actress who pioneered Nepali cinema with her appearance in Aama (1964), the first-ever Nepali movie. Starting her career in the 1960s at the Rastriya Nachghar, she has amassed over 135 film roles and 60 television credits, starring in classic and contemporary hits such as Paral Ko Aago, Truck Driver, Chhakka Panja, and Prasad. Recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 National Film Awards, Bhusal is also a prominent activist who serves as president of the Bhuwan Chaitya Basundhara Foundation and advocates for gender pay equity in the entertainment industry.
