Abhishek Banerjee

Abhishek Banerjee (born 1985) is an Indian actor and successful casting director who grew up in West Bengal and studied English Literature at Delhi University's Kirori Mal College, where he developed his acting craft through its dramatics society, The Players. After beginning his career in Delhi theatre and making a brief appearance in Rang De Basanti, he moved to Mumbai in 2008 and co-founded the prominent casting agency Casting Bay in 2017, working on major projects like The Dirty Picture, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, and Secret Superstar. As an actor, he gained widespread acclaim for his recurring comedic role as Jana in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, and Stree 2), as well as his terrifying portrayal of the hitman Hathoda Tyagi in Prime Video's Paatal Lok. Known for his remarkable range across streaming hits like Mirzapur and feature films such as Dream Girl, Rashmi Rocket, Vedaa, and the critically acclaimed drama Stolen, Banerjee has established himself as one of contemporary Hindi entertainment's most versatile performers.
