Arun Govil to Play King Dasharatha in 'Ramayana' Film

Mumbai. Actor Arun Govil, who gained immense popularity by playing the role of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's famous television show 'Ramayana', will now be seen on screen in the avatar of King Dasharatha.

He is going to be seen in the role of Ayodhya's King Dasharatha in the much-awaited film 'Ramayana', being produced in two parts by director Nitesh Tiwari.

The film's producers officially announced his character by releasing a new poster of Arun Govil. In the released poster, he is seen as King Dasharatha of Ayodhya. In this film, the role of Lord Ram is being played by actor Ranbir Kapoor.

Sharing the poster, the production team wrote, 'He brought Ram to life for a generation. Now he is returning to the world of Ramayana as the King of Ayodhya. Arun Govil as King Dasharatha.'

Earlier, the first song of the film 'Ramayana', 'Jai Jai Ram', was released on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Famous singers Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal have lent their voices to the song. The song was composed, produced, and arranged by A.R. Rahman, and the lyrics were written by Dr. Kumar Vishwas.

Along with A.R. Rahman, Hollywood's famous composer Hans Zimmer is also collaborating on the music of this film.
